Fees
Individual Psychotherapy
The Australian Psychological Society suggests a fee of $318, and the Australian Association for Psychologists Inc suggests a fee of $330 for a 46-60 minute psychotherapy session with a clinical psychologist. The fee for a 50-minute individual psychotherapy session with Amy Bishop is $265.
When booking an initial appointment, you will be required to add your card details into the system. No payment will be taken until the morning of your appointment. Payment will be taken prior to your appointment on the morning of your scheduled appointment. This payment will be taken via an automated system. See the clinic's Cancellation Policy for cancellation fees.
Medicare Rebates
To be eligible for a Medicare rebate under the Better Access initiative, you must receive a referral (and associated Mental Health Treatment Plan) from your GP. This will enable you to claim the Medicare rebate of $145.25. You are responsible for payment of the remaining gap fee of $119.25 plus any eftpos or bank surcharge.
An initial MHTP provides 6 Medicare-rebated sessions. After these initial 6 sessions, you then need to re-present to your GP to obtain a Re-referral to be eligible for the additional 4 Medicare-rebated sessions. This means you are able to claim the Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
If you run out of eligible sessions under the MHCP you are responsible for paying the full fee of $265 plus eftpos or bank surcharge of any further sessions in that calendar year.
Private Health Insurance
Some people with private health insurance extras are eligible to claim a rebate from their insurance. It is your responsibility to check if your private health insurance cover specifically covers psychotherapy fees.
Other Payment Options
Our clinic does not offer rebated sessions through any other third party at this stage.
